Today is different

Because

I have decided not to

be compliant

to everyone's else's needs

or wants or fears

Maybe they need to feel mine for a change

Today is different

I am new to this and the animosity will soon be gone or maybe it will stay

with me forever

I hope that this time I have learned the value of human life

possibly mine own

I seem to have found my new skin to show

off to my friends

one that they only have seen years before the horrid

ordeal overcame my entirety.

I have been someones else's shadow for years

always picked second

never

made to feel as though i was the first choice

in reality i was the later choice

the one that they settled for

whom

paid the price

for not being the one

he wanted in the beginning

the one who has wasted all of my good years,

for what to benifit in the end for the one he wanted first

She's too arrogant!!
