Changes

Things change
people change
the avenues we seek
are not the ones we should
be on.
Or even try!
twisting
twirling
winding
grinding
away at the years
we have wasted on
the things you cannot
change or even try to persuade
Though the effort may be great
and intentions be good.
Only in small
doses can we taste the
tempting thoughts that
erode in our minds
from the salty taste of,
all we ever really wanted
in one twenty four hour period.
Can we take it all at one time,
No!! It would'nt be fair.
It would be too much
for any human being to
inject into thier soul.
Like fire to water .
How it chases the calmness
of the water away when it touches it.
Dispersing the teh good it has to offer into
the air,
wildly, ferviously
They make contact
and knowingly they
still engage, in what they know is not to be
For very long.
But all the while
it seems as if
it will never end.
